Why I'm Buying Huggies This Week

Two months ago, all the buzz on baby blogs was about the $5 printable coupon provided by Kimberly Clark (to be used on Gentle Care diapers, only: sizes newborn-size 2). I've been looking for a good sale price to combine this coupon, and I think I've found one just in time since the coupon expires on 4-17-09.

This week, CVS has Huggies jumbo packs on sale for $10. On top of that...the consumer gets $10 bonus bucks for spending $30 on Kimberly Clark products. See where I'm going? Buy 3 jumbo packs ($30) and get $10 back to use on next purchase. Use 3 $5 coupons...subtotal comes to $15 or $5 per pack. Since there are 44 size 1 diapers per pack, your price-per-diaper comes to 11 cents.

Now, here's the exciting part! Let's go through the checkout process again...using your bonus bucks! Buy 3 $10 jumbo packs for $30. Subtract your $10 in-store coupon. Use 3 $5 coupons. Total for three jumbo packs= $5 for 3 packs OR 4 cents per diaper!!! WOW!! And so goes the process again, using your bonus bucks.

Don't have a $5 Huggies coupon? Send me a SASE (self-addressed-stamped-envelope) and I will send you a copy of this coupon to use! (Yes, you can make copies since this coupon was a print-out coupon in the first place).

Don't have any babies in newborn to size 2 diapers? Buy for your next baby or stock up as baby shower gifts!

Grocery Deals

I did our Wednesday shopping last night, and again I must blog about the deals and steals; here you go, Michelle (and everyone else):

Kraft Mac&Cheese: 49 cents/box
Ken's bleu cheese dressing: $1.25
Juice (100% pomegrante--isn't that trendy!): $2.19
Frozen veggie steamers: FREE!!
Crest toothpaste: FREE!!
4 pack of peach dannon yogurt: 45 cents (total) or 11 cents per cup
10 pack of Quaker granola bars: 29 cents per pack

Also, I've got to mention the items we lost money on (bought without coupons), thanks to those "things we can't live without":

Kanuka cheese spread (extra sharp cheddar)
Yummy 8-o-clock coffee (french roast)
Pumpkin pie coffee creamer (our first time buying this flavor)
Old Spice clear gel deoderant (but it's worth it!!)

What are your weaknesses at the grocery store?

Grocery Deals for Ruth

Former Memphis neighbor/friend/mother-of-four Ruth wrote me that she enjoys reading about my grocery expeditions. She writes, "I LOVE hearing about your great deals! I think it's motivating hearing about how you save money with coupons and shopping great sales. I think it's good for people to hear--right along with Dave Ramsey stuff! :)."

So I went shopping again on Wednesday for the Double Daze, and here's another list of my deals and steals from Pick-N-Save. Although I didn't make out as nicely as last week, here's another list of my deals and steals:

Green Giant frozen veggies: 88 cents
Baby carrots: 88 cents/bag
Lipton sides: 79 cents EA
Kellogg's poptarts: 50 cents/box
Pillbury rolls & cinnamon buns: 99 cents EA
Pillsbury strudels: 99 cents/box
Huggies: $8.99/mega pack

Although, like Granddaddy and Ruth, I do love Aldi's; but I can't justify driving 15 minutes to shop there...especially since our schedule only allows me to shop late evenings or on Saturdays when I'd rather be spending time with Bryan.
