12 Month Stats

Katie saw Dr. Sawall this morning, and charmed him with her smile. Dr. Sawall always asks patients to "bring a joke" to their appointment. Here's my joke (I made it up myself):

Question: "What did the cow say to the chicken who was trying to cross the road?"
Answer: "Why don't you mooo-ve!"

Dr. Sawall thought I was extremely talented and should think about a career in comedy. Here's the joke he shared with me:

Question: "What is one thing given to you but other people use more often?"
Answer: "Your name!" (I knew this answer off the top of my head).

Katie's a healthy, growing girl! Here are her stats:

Height 29.5 inches - 64 percentile
Weight 19 pounds - 17 percentile
Head circumference 42.5 cm - 2nd percentile

Climbing the stairs...

Katie enjoys going up the stairs. But going down is something we need to work on.

Weight on Both Feet

I helped Katie get into the standing position--but once there, she can support herself for about ten seconds!

Katie is 8 Months Old!

She can sit independently, slither, and sit up from a half sitting position in her boppy. Katie eats peas, green beans, carrots, squash, sweet potatoes, applesauce, bananas, and pears. Her favorite food is carrots. She has comfortably been wearing a size 3 diaper at night since early December. We recently moved from 6 month-footed pjs to 9 month-footed pjs because the her feet are too big for the 6 month ones. Katie's favorite book is about Noah and the Ark. Recently, Shadow has tolerated Katie more and lets Katie pull on her hair for a few minutes before moving away.
Katie is curious about standing full weight on her feet and attempts to open the drawer on our coffee table (where we keep her books). She enjoys her 2 naps (one morning, one afternoon), and likes to go to bed between 7:30 and 8pm (she wakes up at 7am).
Next thing we know...she'll be walking!

Our Little Climber

Katie's not quite a crawler yet--but she likes to slither! She's still in 6 month sleepers, but the 6-9 month sleepers give her extra wiggle room. Unfortunatley, the matching caps for her 6-9 month sleeps are a little out of her league.

She had a great time eating and playing with Dad.

Green Beans

Right now Katie is eating green beans. She isn't making the "I want to puke face" each time we feed her a spoonful of beans. Katie tried a sippy cup this past weekend, but she really didn't know what to make of it.

I'd look the same if peas were my breakfast.

Our Six Month Supermodel

This picture is a reminant from Halloween. Yesterday was Katie's 6 month checkup! She is tall and skinny: 27 inches in length (80 ish percentile) and 15 lbs, 4 oz (30 ish percentile! Her head is still tiny--also the 30ish percentile. Since we went over the 15 lb mark, Katie officially started her fuzzi bunz! Thanks Uncle Jimmy for the pretty diapers. I will post a picture of Katie in her red diaper soon.

Sleep Baby, sleep!

Katie has slept through the night for the last five nights! We give her last feeding at 9pm, and she's been sleeping until 6:30 or 7am. Keep it up!!
