Today we took Katie walking around the only mall in town. The Dyersburg mall. Katie had a lot of fun pushing her carebear around in her stroller.

A Dyersburg Thanksgiving

Per the usual, Bryan and I split our Thanksgiving vacation between Dyersburg and Memphis (Collierville). I will create exclusive posts about each trip.
While at Mimi's, Katie enjoyed playing in her (borrowed) deluxe exersaucer.

Great-Granddaddy enjoyed holding Katie.

Katie had lots of mommy time and daddy time.

We visited Memommie at the nursing home.

And Mimi showed Katie off to the handymen.

On Thanksgiving day, Mom heated up our lunch--the turkey, sweet potatoes, green bean casserole, rolls, and desserts were all catered in from Stein Low's (who made the food for our wedding reception). My mom is no Betty Crocker! I got a few cute shots of everyone around the table.

Remembering the Mill

The Mill in Dyersburg used to be a thriving business for my hometown, but it closed about 10 years ago. The Mill bought cotton from West Tennessee farmers and produced the most beautiful fabrics. Well, one local lady bought a lot of the fabric when everything went on clearance during the closeout, and she has a business making items using the nostalgic material (the fabric, by the way, is softer than any fleece you can find at the commercial stores). Thanks to a couple of mom's friends, Katie has 2 beautiful mill blankets: a pink one with white piping, and a white one with pink piping. She loves these blankets--they are soft and super warm!
